Meet The Author
Judy Strong was born in Milwaukee and grew up in Waterford, a picturesque village situated on Wisconsin’s Fox River. She moved to Minnesota, where she married at 23, and began a family that included two daughters and two sons. She lost her husband when she was 50. Three of the children were living at home – a daughter in college and two teenaged sons.
Judy holds a BA degree, taught preschool, and was a substitute teacher in two school districts in Minnesota. Relevant volunteer work in Arizona includes classroom involvement in Augusta Ranch Elementary School, New Member Ministry at Church of the Master Presbyterian Church, and sewing for AZ Blankets for Kids.
No Time to Grieve, Judy’s first published book, began as a journal, following the death of her husband. A reference and guide book, it takes the reader through the practical and emotional steps of early bereavement, giving both insight and support to the griever. It was a 2005 Writers Notes Book Award Winner.
Current work and associations include membership in the Society of Southwestern Authors, regular contributor as expert author to Ezinearticles.com and maintenance of her website, www.notimetogrieve.com that features a free newsletter. Judy speaks to groups on different aspects of grief, loss and bereavement, including a seminar titled, Getting Your Affairs in Order. |
